Interactive AD Series - bringing displays to life
Interactive AD (IAD) displays play content based on the activation of external inputs and activities and can be applied to all sizes and types of AD Series Display. The inputs can be driven from a wide variety of external device-types such as simple user-controlled switches, product lift detectors (where a product or item being lifted activates an input to the display), PIR detectors (detecting movement) or simple touch screen. In each case, the activation of the external inputs will dictate what content is played on the display. Different environments and applications require different levels of interaction between the display and the viewer, all of which can be delivered by IAD and an appropriate external device. For example, passive interaction between a viewer and a display is achieved via a movement (PIR) sensor - playing content when movement is detected, typically by the viewer passing by. Interaction via a lift detector requires a viewer to perform an action, but may be without the viewer’s knowledge. Finally, interaction via touchscreen or buttons involves the viewer fully and actively in what content is played. So, by using different device types, the IAD Series can be used in a huge range of deployments from product selectors, store locators, product demonstrations and information systems to simpler ‘attention grabbers’. For periods where there is no interaction, displays can play default content or play no content at all.
Cost Effective SolutionsIntroducing interactivity to a digital display can be costly. The IAD Series is designed to deliver a range of cost-effective interactive solutions without requiring a computer. As such IAD is an ideal choice for interactive applications from the simple to the moderately complex. The flow of content and the relation between inputs and content files is operated by the template that the IAD display is running. IAD comes with a range of standard template options that are designed to meet a majority of common requirements and require no further programming by the content creator. With the standard templates comes the advantage of using a format that has already been built and tested to rigorous standards. So, not only is the overhead for the content creator reduced, but your customer is assured a reliable and bug-free solution. If your or your customer’s requirement is outside the options offered by the standard templates, the range will either be expanded to meet your needs or you can be provided with the required bespoke template at a nominal additional cost. Once a template is installed content is updated simply by changing the content files as required. In addition, the IAD product can have a new template installed at any time so the display can easily be reused. |
