AD Series Launches 'High Bright' Sunlight Readable Display

AD Series 20" standard display (left) and the ultra-bright Sunlight Readable display (right) in direct sunlight.

The AD Series High Bright range delivers effective and vivid display operation in extreme light conditions. In direct sunlight or very high levels of interior ambient light, the colours on a standard LCD display will ‘wash out’ and the display will not be bright enough to be readable or viewable. So if your content needs to perform successfully in a sun-facing window or among spotlights, then you need an ultra-bright sunlight-readable display.

The AD 20” High Bright displays contain a true sunlight-readable LCD panel with a brightness of 1000 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 500:1, operating with ease in challenging light conditions.

High Bright shares the core design and features of the AD Series portfolio and has been optimised for window display. Speakers are rear facing and cables are output centrally enabling power to be delivered through a mounting pole with no visible cables at all.

As the newest addition to the AD Series portfolio, High Bright benefits from the very latest Series developments coming with VGA as standard plus the new timer feature. Ideal for window applications, the timer has two pre-set daily power ‘on’ settings and two power ‘off ‘settings offering considerable potential for energy savings and allowing displays to be operational outside working hours – catching commuters’ attention before shop opening for example – without the need for a separate timer unit.

High Bright will initially deliver a 20” media player, Angel Light and interactive displays. Cat5 connected will also be available. Other sizes will be launched throughout the year. Contact us if you have volume requirements for other sizes. Click here for more information.

AD Series Timer Feature Added

From 2007 all AD Series Standalone and interactive displays will come with internal clock and timer feature*. The feature allows two power ‘on’ times and two power ‘off’ times to be set for each day of the week. Once the feature is activated, the display will automatically switch on and begin media playback, and automatically switch off at the pre-set times.

AD Series units are designed to operate with minimal staff intervention. The addition of the time feature means personnel do not even have to power on and off, so units can be run entirely independently ensuring maximum up-time and the full benefits of deployment.

• no need for a separate device to power on units automatically
• allows displays to operate at times when premises are unmanned, but without the need to run continually
• depending on settings, has the potential to realise significant power savings

Further details

The internal clock is powered by lithium battery with a life of several years.
The timer feature can be over-ridden by using the display’s on-off switch.

*Items from 2006 stock may not have the Timer feature. Please state if it is a definite requirement when placing orders early in 2007
